The question of who the true Jews are has been a topic of great theological debate. Especially within the context of the New Testament. Zionist ”Christians” do not understand this. In this article, we explore key Biblical passages to clarify who the true Jews are and what it means to be spiritually circumcised.
The definition of true Jews explained: Romans 2:28-29
The concept of a true Jew is explained in Romans 2:28-29, where it is stated:
“For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that which is of the heart by the Spirit, not by the letter, and his praise is not from men, but from God.”
In this passage, Paul makes a significant distinction: outward signs and rituals, such as circumcision, do not make one a true Jew. Rather, a true Jew is one who is spiritually circumcised, with a heart changed by the Holy Spirit. The key to being a real Jew is not external identity but inward transformation through faith in Christ.
The Seed of Abraham: Galatians 3:15-18
The concept of the seed of Abraham is foundational to understanding the true heirs of God’s promises. According to Galatians 3:15-18, Paul explains that the promises made to Abraham were not given to multiple seeds but to a singular “seed,” and that seed is Christ:
“Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say ‘and to seeds,’ as referring to many, but rather to one, and to your seed, that is, Christ.”
Paul emphasizes that Jesus Christ is the true descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – the real seed that fulfills the promises given to the patriarchs. The Mosaic Law, which came later, does not nullify these promises, because the covenant with Abraham is based on faith and trust in God, not on adherence to the law.
Who receives the promise of Abraham? Galatians 3:26-29
The question then arises: Who receives the promises of Abraham? According to Galatians 3:26-29, all who are baptized into Christ become sons of God and thus heirs to the promises:
“For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to the promise.”
Here, Paul makes it clear that baptism into Christ is the means by which one becomes part of Abraham’s spiritual family. Whether Jew or Gentile, male or female, all who belong to Christ share in the inheritance of Abraham’s promises. In Christ, there is no distinction; all are united as the true descendants of Abraham.

The Inheritance of the True Jew Explained: Galatians 4:1-7
For those who are baptized into Christ, they are no longer spiritual children but heirs. Galatians 4:1-7 explains that through Christ, we receive the adoption as sons and the inheritance of God’s promises:
“Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”
As heirs, believers in Christ inherit not just physical promises but spiritual blessings. Including eternal life and the fullness of God’s kingdom. By being spiritually circumcised through faith in Christ, believers receive the adoption and the inheritance. This was promised to Abraham and his descendants.
The True Jews: Seed of Abraham, Isaac and the children of promise
The distinction between the children of promise and others is a central theme in Paul’s writings. Galatians 4:27-31 contrasts the free woman (Sarah) and the bondwoman (Hagar), symbolizing two different spiritual lineages:
“Rejoice, barren woman who does not give birth; break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; for more are the children of the desolate one than of the one who has a husband.”
Paul draws a powerful analogy, stating that those who reject Christ are like the children of Hagar, while those who accept Christ are like the children of Sarah, the free woman. The descendants of Sarah, those who are baptized into Christ, are the true children of promise.
The Jews who reject Jesus: a comparison to Ishmael
In Genesis 21, Sarah tells Abraham to cast out Hagar and Ishmael because they will not inherit the promise given to Isaac. Paul uses this story as a metaphor to describe the situation with Jews who reject Jesus:
“Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman.”
For those who reject Christ, Paul declares them to be like Ishmael, the son of the bondwoman. Despite being of Abraham’s lineage, Ishmael did not receive the promise. Similarly, those who reject Jesus, even if they are physical descendants of Abraham. They are spiritually cut off from the inheritance that comes through Christ.
The True Inheritance: Romans 4:1-17
The true inheritance of the believer is not based on the works of the law but on faith in Christ. Romans 4:13 explains that the promise to Abraham and his descendants was given based on faith, not law:
“It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.”
Those who are baptized into Christ are the true heirs, receiving the promises of God not because of their adherence to the law but because of their faith in Christ.
Conclusion: true Jews Explained
In summary, the true Jews are those who are baptized into Christ and spiritually circumcised. These individuals are the seed of Abraham, heirs to the promises given to him. Physical descent from Abraham does not guarantee participation in these promises. It is faith in Jesus Christ that makes someone part of the spiritual lineage of Abraham. This is why religious Jews are not Gods people. Only the ones that believe in Jesus are Gods people.
The promises to Abraham belong to all who are in Christ. The true Jew is not defined by outward rituals or ethnicity but by faith in Christ. This is the true seed of Abraham.
If you believe in Christ, then you are the true seed of Abraham, and heir according to the promise.
