In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God told Moses to build a tabernacle and once a year the high priest would go into the Holy of Holies. He would sprinkle blood on the mercy seat. He would than say: ”behold the hand behold the nail” Genesis chapter 1 is like a timeline. Just as the high priest went into the Holy of Holies once a year. So did God himself enter his creation for one time to shed his blood on the cross for sin.

So does genesis 1 represent a timeline? The tabernacle represents creation itself. The body of Christ and you also as an individual and just as God entered its creation for one time. So does he also enter into you, into the center of your being: the Holy of Holies inside of you. One time to save you, to save you from sin and make you one with himself. And in this you become a light into the world shining his light into a darkened world.
I’ve been doing a lot of research on this; the further I go, the more it opens up. It’s not stopping opening up and just in Genesis chapter 1 I see the Exodus, I see the virgin birth, I see the the tomb that Jesus went into and was resurrected. Please keep in mind that this is on multiple levels of understanding and to not lay it all out at one time we could leave you confused and it’s it’s very hard to describe: So let me give you an example:
”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”
”In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”: time space and matter – a dwelling place for the body for you individually and the body of Christ. The body as a whole, ”and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” So let’s break that down and ”the earth”, ”the body” was without form and void.- In other words saying: you’re without form, you’re in distress, you’re empty. ”And darkness was upon the face of the deep”. This means that we’re full of darkness. ”And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”’. God’s Spirit entering into you, making you a reborn creature. So remember this is on a lot of different levels and a lot of different meanings and understandings.
”And God said let there be light and there was light”
Let’s go to the next verse: ”And God said let there be light and there was light”. That is Jesus coming into the to the world. He is the light. This means Jesus being born on earth and there are many different levels of understanding to this verse alone. ”And God saw the light, that it was good and God divided the light from the darkness”. That’s Jesus, the light coming into your body and to end sin from you.
Okay let’s go on: ”And God said let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters”. Then the next verse: ”And God made the firmament”. See the difference: ”Let there be a firmament”. ”and God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament and it was so”.
So here we’re seeing an expansion of the of the prophetic timeline, because now what happened is: there’s a separation of the waters and the waters and the firmament is holding them apart: light on top dark on the bottom. What happens in the middle of light and dark?: They clash. There’s a battle between the light in the dark and in these verses. It doesn’t end there, because there’s an individual struggle, there’s a community struggle: there’s all these things playing in these verses.
”And God made the firmament”
So what’s the point of this? Let’s go to Genesis chapter 1 verse 25: ”And God made the beasts of the earth after his kind”. And then the next one: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth”. The way I see it: He gives the power to the beast to have dominion over the world and he gives power to his image man to have power over everything. There’s a struggle here, so I know that this is a lot of information. I’m seeing more and more, so I’m just trying to give you an idea of what I’m seeing.
So at the end of chapter one: notice that’s the end, but then on the next day this seventh day god ends his work and calls it the Sabbath day: the day of rest. I find it very interesting that when chapter one ends it goes into rest. At the end of the story comes rest. Do we have rest here now? Yes, because we rest in the finished work of Jesus! He’s the Sabbath.

I hope that this post about Genesis 1 being a timeline has been something to help. I’m still studying, I’m still praying, I’m still seeking how this all is gonna tie together to say it in a simple easy-to-understand way. I wanted give you a little information. It’s just amazing to me, but the main point was to show that Genesis chapter one is a timeline and everything is hidden in this in the first chapter of Genesis.
